Ask anyone about their favorite night at the ballpark and they won't tell you the score. They'll tell you about the light. The way the sky went orange in the seventh inning, the rain that drifted through the light towers, the fireworks that went up over the parking lot while everyone stayed in their seats. Our Chicago ballpark paintings started with that idea.
The hour, not the logo
Each painting is original ChiTown Threads artwork of a Chicago ballpark, set at a particular hour and a particular kind of weather. There are no team logos, no players and no uniforms. Just the architecture, the neighborhood around it and the sky above it. That makes them easy to live with: they work in a living room, an office or a kid's bedroom, and they will still look right in ten years, whoever is playing third base.

The North Side on a rainy night
The Chicago North Side, Rainy Night canvas is the one most people start with. Steady rain drifts through the light-tower glow at blue hour, the infield shines, and ivy climbs the old brick outfield wall. Beyond it, warm windows light the neighborhood three-flats and an el train rolls past under a teal and amber sky. It is the feeling of a rain delay you did not mind.
The South Side under fireworks
The Chicago South Side, Fireworks Night canvas is the other half of town: a Friday night show bursting over the park, with the skyline lit up in the distance over Bridgeport. Where the North Side painting is quiet and close, this one is loud and wide open. Households split down the middle hang them as a pair.
What is in the frame
Look closely and the paintings are as much about the neighborhoods as the parks. On the North Side canvas it is the three-flats with their lights on, the el platform and the wet pavement catching the glow from the towers. On the South Side canvas it is the long sweep of the stands, the parking lots emptied out for the show and the skyline standing in for the whole city behind it. Those details are why people from the block recognize the painting before they read the title.

Why only Chicago
We are a Chicago studio, and from here on the lineup is Chicago only. Two ballparks, painted the way the city remembers them, and a growing set of Chicago skylines and landmarks to hang beside them: Navy Pier at blue hour, the L rounding the Loop, the Water Tower in autumn, Lake Shore Drive at dusk and the lakefront at sunrise.
From painting to canvas
Every canvas is made to order. The artwork is printed on museum-quality matte canvas, wrapped around a 1.25 inch deep wood stretcher frame with dark charcoal sides, and shipped with hanging hardware included. No outer frame needed. The ballpark paintings run from 24 x 16 inches, right for a hallway or above a dresser, up to 48 x 32 inches for over the sofa, and shipping is free to any U.S. address.
To keep it looking its best, dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of direct sunlight and away from moisture.
Where they hang
These paintings tend to end up above the couch, behind a basement bar or in a home office. A 30 x 20 fits an office wall without taking it over; a 36 x 24 or 48 x 32 is the piece a room gets built around. For a smaller spot, the ballpark collection page lists every size and price.
Pair it with a crewneck
The ballparks have company. The Chicago Est. 1837 embroidered crewneck is the classic, and the Chicago neighborhood crews let you match the painting to the block: Lakeview for the North Side canvas, Bridgeport for the South Side. Everything is in one place on our Chicago crewnecks and gifts page, and the wall art picks are in Wall Art Gifts.
